This is the first of two new submissions from my pal Bill Frandino. He is better at this than I am, and here is the proof. Episode III brings you the music of Bobby Kendall. I do not know the man, but after listening, I wish I did. Quality country tunes here. And of course, we get the brilliant narration of Mr. Frandino. enjoy!

Episode 17 - Shu @ Asgaard Farm 08/16/08

DOWNLOAD HERE

text copied from Bob Was Here

Shu played a fabulous gig on a fabulous day. On August 16, 2008 we were lucky enough to be part of the NCPR "UpNorth Music Concert" at Asgaard Farm in Ausable Forks, NY. The entire day was perfect. Althea Jean, Dan Hammond, Mark Tolstrup, and Shu played to a crowd of over 800 people. We played last.

Here is the whole Shu set... as for the last tune:

At the end of our set, one of the NCPR folks came up and asked us to stay on stage as he reassembled all of the day's musicians onstage. This recording was the result. We had at least 11 musicians on stage (banjo, fiddle, 2 steel drums, sax, 3 guitars, bass, drums, percussion, etc, etc). I can't tell you how moving this was. I hope it comes across in the recording. All I know is that we (Shu) were high on the experience for hours afterward. We camped out that night and played music into the wee hours. Without doubt, inspired by this little jam. Enjoy!

Episode 16 - Happy B-Day Brother Vinnie

DOWNLOAD HERE

Michelle Howland brings us her second contribution to the GFR New Music Podcast series. This week, the Bass Diva wishes her brother Vinnie a Happy Birthday by playing a bunch of his very own tunes. Vinnie Leddick (Michelle's brother) is a popular and talented local musician. He is frequently spotted at Mr. Brown's Pub (The Sagamore) in Bolton Landing. Anyway... I hope he is listening, cuz his sister loves him very much. You'll love his tunes!

Episode 15 - Bass Diva on the AHMF

Yes... that's right, two episodes in as many days. Episode 15 comes to us from GFR's own Michelle Howland, the Bass Diva. The loveliest of all GlensFallsRock.com junkies, Michelle is a talented local musician in her own right. But today, she is a fan. As with Episode 14, the show is dedicated to the Adirondack Homegrown Music Festival artists. The concert is Sunday July 13th... Shepard's Park, Lake George, NY; 11AM-9PM. Be there (it's free). But first, be here. And dig on the excellent show Michelle has put together for us all.
